Ray is the co-founder and CEO of NÜTY .
Behind the story of NÜTY is the journey and discovery of personal health and well-being of the founders.
Entrepreneurial by nature, Ray embarked on his first venture, iPlanet Solutions, in 2001 after completing his post-graduate studies in eCommerce at Deakin University, Melbourne.
During his early years as entrepreneur, working long and often stressful hours combined with poor eating choices, Ray experienced his first major health challenge when he was 35. Upon recovery, Ray prioritized his personal health and well-being and transformed his eating habits and personal lifestyle. Ray traveled around the world to understand how people, food and culture. In particular, he was fascinated by the connection between food and individual and societal well-being. Ray has traveled to over 45 countries in Asia, Australia, Africa and Americas.
Ray also lived in Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Paris, San Francisco and New York which helped him to develop an acute understanding of the impact of modern eating habits among people in different cultural and socio-economic conditions.
Ray returned to India in 2017 to pursue the venture close to his heart, along with his old friend and partner, Naveen Chander, in order to make good food affordable and accessible. Together they formed “Tulita Ahara” (Sanskrit for Balanced-Diet), to bring back the long-advocated need for good balance in diet for health and harmony.
NÜTY was born after nearly 3 years of research and development using proprietary and advanced food production technology such as HPP (High Pressure Processing) and involving their team of food scientists from India, Japan and China. Using their technology, they have developed over 100 vegetarian and non-vegetarian products based on authentic, regional recipes that are high in nutrition and rich in taste, affordable and accessible to people across the country.
Ray believes in eating food as a cure, a common-sense diet which involves making eating choices based better understanding of food.
Ray is actively involved with outdoor sports like biking, running, and mountaineering, he has also participated in Marathons across the globe. Ray loves brainstorming ideas with young entrepreneurs and is an active Angel Investor who has invested in several startups in Silicon Valley and Bengaluru.
